Women prisoners have been subjected to torture by electrocution, beatings, and rape by the investigators during interrogation. They had also been raped by the police and by the officers escorting them during the transfer to the women's prison in Baghdad.

Adnan Hadi al-Asady ordered his security force to execute all the prisoners, who returned or were recaptured from the prison escape on 28 September in Kirkuk. After finishing the execution, they hid the bodies somewhere in the area.
